Chat and Instant Messaging

Chat or instant messaging is a way of communicating over the internet. It is sent via “push- mode”, so the messages are sent instantaneously from sender to receiver.  

This is the chat messager that is linked to the social networking site Facebook.

Instant messaging allows real-time communication with any two (or more) people in any part of the world without any cost. It is also very convenient if both the sender and recipient are online, you can communicate with ease and quickly.

Although, instant messaging does have some disadvantages:

                You are generally prone to viruses as they are sent and immediately open when a message is sent.

                If you are not computer literate instant messaging is of no greater advantage than traditional methods of communication.
